About

Hi, I'm the trainer behind Canine Connexion.

For nearly a decade I've been helping owners and dogs really understand each other — through clear communication, shared activities, and a healthy dose of fun.

My story

From kennels and display teams to your living room

I started out working in kennels and as part of a display team while studying for my Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Canine Behaviour and Training, which I completed in 2016 with a Merit. That same year, I set up my first training practice in Wales.

In 2018 I took the work to France for a year, then in 2019 settled in North Devon — where Canine Connexion has been based ever since. Today I run group classes and 1:1 sessions out of Westleigh, with continuing CPD through the IMDT and Scentwork UK.

My approach

Communication, connection, teamwork & fun

Training works best when it's a conversation, not a contest. I focus on helping you read your dog, communicate clearly and reward the choices you want to see again — building a partnership rather than just a list of commands.

Every dog and every household is different, so sessions are tailored to where you actually are: whether that's a wriggly puppy, a teenage dog testing the limits, or a long-loved companion who could do with a fresh challenge.

Accreditations

Trained, vetted, and always learning

I'm a registered Scentwork UK instructor and an active member of the IMDT — both of which mean ongoing assessment, regular CPD and a commitment to ethical, evidence-based methods.
